OSWEGO, NY (May 23, 2025) – Novelis is set to once again present the upcoming Compass Federal Credit Union Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 7 at Battle Island Golf Course in Fulton, NY. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit both the Oswego Little League and Fulton Little League programs.
The Compass Federal Credit Union Charity Golf Tournament is an annual gathering of community members and business professionals that share the common goal of helping to raise funds to benefit youth sports organizations in the cities of Oswego and Fulton.
“It’s a pleasure to once again have Novelis presenting this year’s Compass Charity Golf Tournament,” said Compass Federal Credit Union COO, Eric Morris. “As we approach our 60th year of operation in 2026, we are excited to continually work alongside Novelis in an effort to provide for our community and our members, as we have done since 1966.”
In September of 1966, Joe “Papa” Manale had a vision and took $25 from his own pocket and together with John Ravas and Charlier Carter, formed the Oswego Aluminum Employee’s Credit Union inside Alcan, known today as Novelis. This foundation has opened up opportunities that would benefit employees of Novelis for years to come.
In 2005, the credit union rebranded to Compass Federal Credit Union and began to serve all of Oswego County. But, the roots of Compass will always be settled at Novelis.
Team registration for this year’s tournament is $400 for a crew of four and includes a cart, light breakfast, hot dogs at the turn and a chicken BBQ at the conclusion of the event. Event registration opens on the day of the event at 8 a.m. with the tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
