Compass FCU Announces Board Nominees; Annual Meeting Set for May 4

OSWEGO, NY (March 28, 2023) – Compass Federal Credit Union’s 57th Annual Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 4th at the Fallbrook Recreation Center on the campus of SUNY Oswego.  During this meeting, final votes will be tallied to fill three vacant seats on the Compass Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.

Official nominees running for the Board include incumbents Michael Pisa and Lisa Distin-Hoefer, as well as new candidates Sarah Hoefer and David Pauldine.

While the Annual Meeting will take place at Fallbrook on May 4th, beginning at 7 p.m., voting will be open at the credit union’s two main locations in the days prior to the meeting.

Ballot boxes will be available at 131 George St. in Oswego and 208 N. Second St. in Fulton on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3.  Voting will be open at George St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in Fulton from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Voting will also take place during the Annual Meeting, which will be free to attend by members of the credit union.

In order to vote, members must be in good standing and 18 years of age or older.

Michael Pisa is completing his fifth year as President of the Compass Board of Directors, after serving the previous year as Vice President.  Pisa previously served on the Board of Directors at Oswego Heritage FCU for seven years prior to the merger between Compass and Heritage in August of 2016.  Currently, employed at SUNY Oswego as the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Security, Pisa feels his experience in leadership, technology, human resources and security would be well utilized to continue as a member of the Compass Board.

Lisa Distin-Hoefer, a private duty nurse for more than 20 years, is seeking a fifth term on the Compass Board of Directors.  Since being on the Board, Distin-Hoefer has been actively involved in many credit union events including the Bank at School program, the former Young Bucks Halloween Party and the annual Community Picnic, where in 2019 she headed up the Food Drive to benefit local food pantries.  Along with event participation, Distin-Hoefer has also served on several Compass committees including the Succession Committee, Bylaws Committee and the Contributions Committee.

Seeking election for the first time, Sarah Hoefer is a NYS Licensed Associate Broker for Century 21 Galloway Realty.  Listing leadership, business matters, public relations and marketing or sales as experience, Hoefer hopes to help build community relationships and bring further awareness to the credit union if elected.  Hoefer’s skills in organization, negotiating, customer services, sales and planning are assets she believes she can bring to the credit union.

David Pauldine, a Supervisor at Anthony Pauldine Contracting, has been a Compass member since 2011.  Like Hoefer, Pauldine aims to help the credit union build awareness and meaningful relationships in the community.  Pauldine believes he can be an asset to the credit union through his experience in business ownership, customer relations, business accounting and property management.
