OSWEGO, NY (March 2, 2026) – Since 1966, the heart of Compass Federal Credit Union has had its place inside the walls of Novelis. Starting as the Alcan Employee’s Credit Union 60 years ago, Compass has expanded to welcome more than 8,000 members through all of Oswego County, but has never lost touch of where it all began.
As part of the credit union’s 60th Anniversary celebration, Compass has reinvested in its Novelis branch, with a working renovation that is now set to welcome members back the week of Monday, March 2.
“The story of Compass Federal Credit Union begins at Novelis and we are eager to continue to foster this great relationship that started all the way back in 1966,” said Compass Federal Credit Union CEO, Jennifer Rupert. “While at our core we are a financial institution; it is the friendships, bonds and relationships that have developed these last 60 years with everyone at the Novelis plant that make what we do so special. As a thank you we are pleased to offer a host of benefits over the next several weeks to those at Novelis and look forward to continuing to be able to point the way to financial success for our Novelis members in the future.”
Novelis employees are encouraged to visit the Compass FCU branch to learn about the promos and bonuses being offered through March 27 and beyond.
