Online Banking Alerts: How to Use These Notifications to Your Advantage

OSWEGO, NY (November 9, 2023) – Compass Federal Credit Union’s online banking and mobile app offers a series of useful products and services, including online banking notifications and e-alerts.

Whether using your mobile device or your home computer or laptop, these banking alerts can be used to not only monitor your financial status and well-being, but can also help to add a heightened layer of security against fraud and identity theft.

These notifications and alerts, which you can select at your convenience, will keep you up to date on transactions, balance amounts, loan payments and more.

How to Find these Alerts?

Computer/Lap Top/Mobile Browser

When using your home device, such as a computer or laptop, or if you are visiting the Compass FCU website via your mobile browser, you first need to click the ‘Online Banking’ link for access.

Once inside the Online Banking portal you will select the hamburger menu drawer (three horizontal lines) located to the left of the Accounts tab.  From there select EALERTS under Services.

Once inside EALERTS you will automatically be directed to your Notifications Settings.  From here you can select a variety of notifications, which we will address below.

Mobile App

When using the Compass FCU mobile app, you will start by clicking the Menu tab on the bottom right of your home screen. 

Once inside you will scroll down to Services and select, Notifications.

In order to receive notifications you will want to be sure that you allow ‘Push Notifications to this Device’.  This will be allowed when the toggle switch to the right turns green after being pressed.

Below you will see series of notifications, which we will address below.

What Notifications and E-Alerts are Available?

Savings Notifications

Savings Transaction Amount: Receive a notification for any transaction over a selected amount on a savings sub-account.

Savings Balance Below: Receive a notification anytime a savings sub-account falls below a selected amount.

Savings Goal: Select a savings sub-account and set a savings goal, then receive a notification when you reach that goal.

Loan Notifications

Loan Transaction Amount: Receive a notification for any transaction over a selected amount on a loan.

Loan Reminders: Receive a reminder a selected number of days before your loan payment is due.

Other Options

Card Activity Alerts: Receive a notification when a transaction is performed overseas, or where your card is not present.

Direct Deposit Alerts: Receive a notification when a direct deposit is received.

Unregistered Device Alerts: Receive a notification when an unregistered device logs into your account.

Cleared Check Numbers: Receive a notification when a selected check number clears.

Alert Balance Type: When receiving a notification about your balance, you can have it based on the Balance, or the Available Balance.
